ABOUT / CONTACT
Hello! I’m so thrilled that you discovered Daynyt and I’m very excited to welcome you to my little slice of the internet.
My name is Ella, and I’m the founder and voice behind Daynyt. I also co-host of the Let’s Discuss podcast.
My blogging story began back in September 2006, when I was 16-years-old. Addicted to fashion magazines and with an encyclopaedic-knowledge of celebrity fashion, I started Daynyt as a way to fill up my free time and instantly fell in love with blogging.
In 2008 I enrolled at the University for the Creative Arts to study Fashion Journalism, and graduated in 2011 with a First Class BA (Hons) degree. By then Daynyt had a global readership and a visible presence in the London fashion scene. So, after interning at Marie Claire magazine for a few months, I took a leap of faith in late-2011 and started blogging full time.
And the rest, as they say, is history… I’ve blogged full-time since 2011, and have been lucky enough to travel the world and meet some truly incredible people along the way. I live in West London, and when I’m not blogging you can find me watching Nancy Meyers and Nora Ephron movies, in downwards facing dog at my local yoga studio, or attempting to make friends with every cat in my neighbourhood.
GET IN TOUCH…
I’d love to connect with you, so feel free to email me at [email protected] or drop me a message on Instagram or Twitter.
Daynyt is a lifestyle blog dedicated to providing attainable style inspiration for fashion-savvy young professionals. I believe that life is more fun when filled with beautiful things – whether it be a cosy cashmere sweater, glossy coffee table book or new lipstick – and that it shouldn’t cost a fortune to build a stylish, colourful life. With each post I hope to inspire, entertain and spread a daily dose of glamour.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What photography equipment do you use?
I currently swap between two cameras: the Olympus PEN E-PL8 (with either the 45mm lens or the kit lens), and the Canon EOS M (using the Canon EF 50mm lens). I also regularly shoot with a selection of London-based photographers, therefore most of my style posts are shot on their equipment.
I wouldn’t say I’m a particularly skilled or confident photographer. And if you’re in the same boat this post should help you get to grips with the basics of blog photography.
All of my blog images are edited on Photoshop and/or Lightroom. And for Instagram I edit in Snapseed and VSCO.
Do you currently have any partnership opportunities?
I always love working with likeminded brands to produce exciting and engaging content. Whether that’s in the form of sponsored blog and Instagram posts, or events such as blogging workshops and styling events. For more information please get in touch via my page.
Do you have any advice for new bloggers?
The blogosphere is a crowded space, so I think it’s really important to carve out a clear focus and identity first and foremost. My e-book, 10 Things I Wish I Knew When I Started Blogging, is packed with practical tips to help you launch a successful lifestyle blog. But the most important ingredients are dedication and a clear focus when it comes to content.
Why are some of your earlier posts hidden?
Over time I have archived some of CTP’s earlier posts in order to elevate the reader experience. A number of posts dating from 2006-2012 have been archived because they no longer work with the current layout and are poor quality.
Is it true you own a life-sized cardboard cutout of Ryan Gosling?
Yes, it is indeed true… Ryan currently lives behind my wardrobe and comes out on special occasions.
